The people's choice.

There's a lot of talk about "the people's choice".

You have the People's choice awards for TV, movies, and music.

You have the people's choice in politics - that's why Barack Obama is our President Elect - he was the "people's choice"

And in many ways the "people's choice" is a great thing. But in some ways it can be a bad thing.

While I can't give all the details right now, we are nearing the end of our search for a "Grow Pastor" - and this whole "people's choice" idea came into the discussion.

We were blessed - I mean BIG TIME blessed with a number of incredible candidates. But one in particular may not have been the "people's choice" in some circles. His experience was not as much as some others. The size of church he minister's in was not as large as some. And in some ways he did not seem like the logical first choice. But that was all about the "people's choice".

But there was an even bigger factor playing in the process. For weeks some of us have been gathering for prayer at 6:15 on Tuesday mornings (uggghhhh). Many of you have joined us in praying for this yet unknown staff person - thanks so much!

And God really showed up. When all was said and done his Spirit was making it clear to all of us that one particular person was the right choice.

During the discussion I brought up David, the young shepherd boy. While the people's choice for king had been Saul - he was clearly not God's man. David was because he was a man after God's own heart. And that's what we were looking for. God's man, not Dean's man, or the elder's man". And barring some unforeseen issue we have found him!

IS GOD AWESOME OR WHAT!
